Going one town over, eating a pizza, turning around, and getting back home before dark. Cannibalizing old bikes for parts when ours had had enough. Remembering a particularly hard tumble when you were trying to carry too much in your arms and you let the bike get the better of you. Going 40 miles every few months atop a $1200 two-wheeler on a Saturday is not riding a bike, however.
A kickstand is also included, which is not something every cruiser has these days. The frame of the Men’s Classic is made from steel, like all good cruisers. This gives the bike a low center of gravity, while also helping mongoose bicycles to absorb shock and create a better level of stability, making it a comfortable bike. Its vibrant color scheme and matching accessories gives it a cohesive look that very much resembles the cruiser bikes from decades ago.
GT had a total of 57 athletes on various teams in 1997, including nine mountain bike racers, 32 BMX racers and 16 freestyle/GT Bicycle Air Show performers. GT bicycles began in 1972 when professional drag racer and experienced welder Gary Turner makes a frame for his son Craig Turner in his Fullerton, California garage to race at mongoose bicycles the BMX track. Most frames used during this period were modified Schwinn Stingrays which were heavy and broke easily under the stress of BMX racing and jumping. Gary Turner made his frames from 4130 chrome-moly tubing, the same tubing used in building chassis for dragsters which is stronger and lighter than regular carbon steel.
Once I got everything tuned I measured her chain and it was “stretched” . Just told her to ride it and if it stopped working at some point we could look at replacing it. After that, I personally wouldn’t worry if the chain is just worn. Like another commenter said the cogs will wear with it so at this point they are a matched set anyways so as long as things run smoothly just run them to death. Is there anything I’m going to run into while taking this apart, cleaning it up and getting it ready?
Sometimes you just want to experience the simple pleasure of riding, and the S1 excels at that. As well as looking great, this bike is also very practical. It comes with the rack on the back, a holder for your Mocha, and a rather stylish detachable front basket that turns into a rather handy bag you can take with you anywhere. One thing I did notice is that this bike does come with very strong and durable tires, so the period between flats will be longer than you might normally expect. It comes with a large 18” frame which also makes it a more feasible bike for those of us who are slightly taller than the average bear.
To use these brakes, you have to pedal backward, which causes the coaster brake hub to stop the bike by pushing the brake shoe against the edge of the rotating hub. The rear hub can’t rotate, which causes the rear wheel to stop bringing your bike to a stop. The seat on these cruiser bikes is padded to keep you comfy when riding long distances, whether the trail is smooth or rough. You will like the stylish yet modern look of the Men’s and Women’s cruiser bikes from Huffy. It won’t be hard to keep this bike clean or well-maintained with smooth tires and colorful sidewalls. Perhaps the most striking thing about this Beach Cruiser is the ordinary handlebars.
