Haven’t Heard Much About Dyson 360 Heurist Robot Vacuum, Is It Worth? Debating This Vs The Roomba S9

From air purification to hair care and, of course, vacuum cleaners, Dyson has slowly and successfully branched out into new sectors and now commands a presence in each market. Run the vacuum cleaner over new carpet and its bin will come back full of fluff; run it on a hard floor and you’ll be bissell crosswave cordless amazed at how much dirt this robot picks up. Running the vacuum cleaner through some tests with flour spilt on the floor in various locations, the 360 Heurist proved itself to be a winner. A few robot vacuums have a clever self-emptying feature, most notably those of the iRobot Roomba series.

On the smart home front, there’s an Alexa skill, so you can ask your 360 Heurist to start or stop cleaning from your Echo speaker. Annoyingly, Dyson has still to add the Google Assistant to the mix. However, unlike the basic mapping of the 360 Eye, the Heurist really ups the game with personalized zones and room settings.

Surfaces included wooden, carpeted and tiled floors, all with plenty of obstacles so that we could closely observe how the robot navigated through rooms and see what it did and didn’t clean up. This allowed us to understand the pros and cons of the machine and judge whether its advanced technology is really worth the hefty price tag. If you’re concerned that this vacuum might stranded during cleaning, worry not. Instead of conventional wheels, the 360 Eye™ rolls merrily along on two continuous rubber tank tracks that ensure easy maneuverability and maximum traction on different floor types.

Overall the apps are far better than leaning over to press a physical button on the machines, and the ability to use them from anywhere makes them invaluable. I know for myself, I wasn’t always home when I needed to have a quick vacuum done. They got rid of the brushes and bristles and utilized interlocking grooves in their place. There is also a sensor in the extraction chamber to note if the bars are caught on something like a cord or wire. A full charge from a dead battery will take three hours on a 980; however, you will get 2 hours of run time. In a real-world test, the charge lasts about an hour and a half, which is still twice as long as the Dyson.

By using tank tracks instead of standard wheels the Dyson 360 Heurist can easily climb over thresholds and transition between floor types or onto area rugs. Eight navigational sensors allows the Dyson 360 Heurist to see a four-metre diameter around it at all time. This includes drop sensors which prevent the robot from falling down stairs and sensors which prevents it from bumping into walls or furniture.

I will assume you have rabbits or chinchillas and are not keeping your horses in the house. The Roomba will pick up chips and straw as long as the pieces aren’t too oversized. The collection bins are pretty easy to remove and empty, although the Dyson bin does take a bit to get unlocked. The Roomba relies on acoustic and bottom sensors bissell crosswave cordless to locate objects, so if you move things around it may collide with them until it remaps the area. The map is highly accurate though, and as long as no new objects are introduced to the area, you will see fewer and fewer collisions with each cycle. By updating every second, the robot has fewer collisions with objects and furniture.
