The iRobot Roomba J7 Robot Vacuum Is 33% Off at Amazon

Unlike almost every other vacuum here, Eufy’s latest and most powerful robot vacuum utilizes twin turbines. Each turbine generates up to 2,000 Pa of suction energy, meaning that it can suck up twice as much dirt in one pass. In irobot vacuum cleaner my testing, the X8 Hybrid’s maps were way too wonky for me to trust it to lug a full 250-mL tank of water around my house. However, it was the perfect vacuum to deep-clean all the dog hair and kid detritus in the basement.

As with other inexpensive robots, you can only set a single daily schedule; the V3S Pro also offers three cleaning modes — whole floor, spot and edge — accessible from the included remote. Thanks to a suite of advanced sensors, the robot effortlessly maneuvers around and under furniture and won’t accidentally tumble down a flight of stairs. It’s also equipped with PrecisionVision Navigation, allowing the device to recognize objects like cords, socks, and pet waste so it won’t roll through them.

In testing we found this mop did a lot of overlapping rows to clean across floors , and there was some streaking left behind by the fluid . Since iRobot’s cleaning fluid and cleaner pads need to be purchased regularly, these items need to factor into the budget. The smart navigation system learns the layout of a home, coordinates no-go zones, and builds smart maps so users can create and automate their cleaning schedule. Programming preferences can be done through the iRobot Home app and through voice prompts with Alexa or Google Assistant.

We’ve tested most of the auto-empty docks out there, including multiple versions from iRobot and Shark, and one each from EcoVacs, Roborock, and a generic-brand dock that came with a generic-brand Roborock knockoff . The Roborock irobot vacuum cleaner S4 Max has a single, relatively small brush roll , so it’s not as effective on carpets as Roomba’s dual-roll design. I have a long-haired cat, a long-haired wife, and a toddler, who all leave plenty for the robot to pick up .

People are also big fans of it’s impressive deep-cleaning capabilities, particularly pet owners. They say the machine is particularly effective at cleaning longer hair thanks to it’s impressive suction, but that they don’t need to worry about it wrapping and clogging the machine thanks to it’s self-cleaning brush. Enhanced suction capability and a redesigned self-cleaning brushroll excel at cleaning long hair, making it a great option for animal lovers. Its bagless, self-emptying bin allows you to forget about the dustbin for up to a month of continuous cleaning. While most of the robot vacuums we’ve reviewed are readily able to tackle long pet hair, some stand out ahead of others.

Wednesday’s iPhone launch event saw the release of four new iPhone models, plus an Apple Watch built to take a beating. A battery-powered motor lets you enjoy most of the benefits of biking, minus the sweat. Whether you’re biking to the office or schlepping a camera to a shoot, a laptop dyson robot vacuum bag is your constant companion. If not, you may want to keep an eye out for vacuum attachments or accessories designed with stairs in mind. At Sam’s Club, you can expect to find the best value, a large selection to choose from, and members-only prices for all your vacuum needs.

The company has a good history of following through on those kinds of promises, but you should expect the improvements to trickle out over several years, not months. Besides, most good robots at all prices are pretty good at avoiding bot-trapping obstacles. And bot owners tend to get in the habit of picking up the kinds of floor-bound clutter that can create a problem—toys, shoes, laundry, even certain lightweight floor mats—so that the robot can work effectively. The Electrolux Pure i9 is an oddity that we want to love but can’t recommend. Another surprisingly useful upside to the basic Eufy bots is the short body.

I’ve written about robot vacuums for Wirecutter since 2013, logging hundreds of hours of research and testing in that time. Also consider the Eufy RoboVac 11S, which is so quiet and nimble that it blends into the background like no other robot . This basic, affordable bot sounds more like a desk fan than a vacuum—even if you’re home while it works, you’ll barely notice it running. It’s shorter than most bots, which lets it glide under more furniture, picking up plenty of hidden debris. The big downside is that the 11S don’t seem to be built to last for more than a couple of years on average, and we’ve heard about plenty of unrepairable breakdowns that happen even sooner. And while the 11S will get your floors much cleaner than if you didn’t vacuum at all, this bot just isn’t built to dig up much debris from rugs, especially softer, thicker types.

This small, practically silent robot is an ideal, inexpensive option for a cozy apartment or to use as a second bot for an upstairs space or home office. Currently selling for $200 (or $179 for the mopless version), it lacks smart mapping features, has no smart obstacle avoidance, and only runs for 90 minutes. The budget-priced Deebot U2 Pro is a beast of a bot with a big battery and huge dustbin, making it a good option for households with pets. It also comes with a special pet hair-specific roller brush and a mop attachment.

The Clean Base is shorter and shallower than Samsung’s emptying bin base, taking up less space in a room or under a table. If you want the convenience of a self-emptying vacuum but want to save a couple of hundred dollars over an iRobot or Samsung, the Shark IQ XL cleans and performs almost as well for a lot less. For our Founding Sponsors Program, we’re looking to partner with a small, select group of companies that are passionate about robotics and STEM education.
