Simple flywheel and chain guard removal to simplify any service needs. Enhanced handlebar design improves grip comfort and support for all rider needs, from comfort to high-performance. Aluminum seat slider, handlebars and hardware materials for rust-free performance. Aluminum frame provides rust-free performance and is significantly lighter than steel. The hard and narrow bike seat is my least favorite part of the Schwinn IC4, but I am trying to power through it.

StudioCycles is the only company in the world that offers a lifetime warranty for every residential client and has for nearly 30 years. Because a lifelong fitness journey requires lifelong support – and that’s the StudioCycles promise. Upright bikes are the counterpoint to recumbent bikes — they keep you in a more upright position with more extension in your legs. They also take up less floor space than other bikes, which is a definite plus if your space is already cramped. This one is also suuuper budget-friendly but still equipped for streaming with speakers, a charging port, and a tablet holder. Unfortunately, many of the tricked-out bikes made for at-home cycling classes — like the Peloton and the Echelon — also have majorly tricked-out prices.

Indoor cycling bikes are designed to replicate what it’s like to ride a bike outdoors, and they’re the ones that have exploded in popularity in recent years. This model is the IC4’s little sibling, with a smaller price and fewer features, but it’s still a good option for streaming workouts from your device. You can buy a conversion decal on Etsy to stick on your bike . With my current setup, I’m only able to view my heart rate and cadence on-screen during rides, not my output like Peloton bike users are able to see.

Bluetooth connectability isn’t as ideal as having a screen with wifi-capabilities, but it gets the job done for half the price.

If you want to view a class with a compatible app, you must utilize your own device. This is obviously different from bikes like Peloton that have an included screen for programming. Once you have your chosen device hooked up to the bike, I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything without an included screen. The Schwinn IC4’s cushioned seat is typical for an exercise bike – it isn’t the most comfortable if you aren’t used to it.
